This is something I always thought abt. ...This is for ppl whose mother tongue is Telugu.....When I meet two people from Tamil Nadu , I see them converse in Tamil among themselves...the same is true abt two ppl from Gujarat.... UP, Maharastra........ It is only when I see two ppl from Andhra Pradesh....esp Hyderabad...we talk in every other language but TELUGU...... May be I am one of them.....
I try to talk more in my mother tongue to another person who I know is familar with that language these days...... I have observed it a lot in India in my last visit.... that kids are discouraged to talk in Telugu by few of their parents.....they think thats below diginity.....not all are doing it thankfully..................
As the medium of education in AP is English mostly, kids in school are encouraged to talk in english more......which is very good, but I would like to request parents to encourage kids to equally learn telugu which is their mother tongue
Ppl easily say that they dont know how to read or write telugu......they shud be ashamed of saying it if that is their mother tongue(MT).......give respect to your very own MT........... how many of us really go thru the telugu news paper in india......
I agree that the competitive world really needs us to be very good and fluent in english...both in written and communication skills......but that still doesn't stop ppl from know their own MT.....
I hope ppl start realizing it more and teaching it more to kids...............
When I see American born Telugu kids......I see their parents taking efforts to teach them telugu even though they are away from they country........
Why do we get the love for the language only once we leave the country.............
I am one among those ppl too, who is really not used to a lot of telugu reading ....... I am trying not to lose touch with my language...........
" Telugu Varandaram Telugulo Matladudam" .........this is a caption in one of the TV Channels in India..........
Lets try to follow that ................
